Any doctors or nurses?? Help please

I don't want to use pacifiers, but my baby will be getting his nutrition through IV for a little while after he's born. Is it a bad idea to avoid pacifiers or should I consider it so he doesn't lose the ability or desire to suck? I would ask my doctor, but my next appointment is the date of my induction

Im no nurse, but I know for a fact that not giving ur baby a paci will not make them lose the sucking desire or ability. I never gave my kids a binky and they both were fine. Fingers and fists are good for them to suck on :) You just have to think about back in the day, when moms didnt have pacis for their babies, the babies naturally sucked on hands. If u find ur baby needs more comfort and cannot soothe himself, try the binky. Otherwise, its really not necessary. Hope i helped a lil. Take care
