Pregnancy and the Comtraceptive Injection

Hi,

I recently had my first ever contraceptive injection on Friday the 3rd may. But recently I have been very tired and other symptoms of pregnancy. I had unprotected sex for a month and up to.having the injection.

I can find a lot of information on people getting pregnant on the injection. But no information on being pregnant when having the injection. Will it harm my baby if I am? Coz the injection be causing the same symptoms of pregnancy? And also if I take a pregnancy test now would the injection affect my result? If its not to early to get a result at all.

Yes.I think that's probably a good call. Shame the depo can stop periods as that would be a big give away. But thank you.

Ok so I did some research and it says it is unknown if depo can harm a developing fetus if it is used accidentally. I know my friends have experienced bloating, weight gain, mood swings, etc from the depo shot. As far as the pregnancy test the best thing would be to wait until your period would normally come and go to the dr for a blood pregnancy test  I believe

Yes, the 12 week one. I was on the patch but they didn't agree with me. So I stopped them. Hence the month unprotected

What injection was it depo provera?

Hi, I wasn't planning on sorting contraception. But after a conversation with my other half I went to the doctors and sorted it out. I admit the first month was stupid. And I wasn't planning on being pregnant. I was pregnant last year and miscarried. I didn't plan on it happening again. I dont know if I am. I may not be. I just wondered if someone had any information.

I don't want to sound rude and I hope you don't get offended but I have a question? Why would you have unprotected sex if you were planning on birth control? And if you were trying to get pregnant why get a contraceptive injection?
