Pregnancy myths or truths?

U know I've hears alot if different things regarding carrying my son. My thing is my son probably weighs about 35 pounds. He is almost 4. And I am 29 weeks pregnant. I don't carry him alot. Usually if he falls asleep somewhere other than his bed or when he's scared. My husband will usually do it but has been away for the last 2 weeks. Is carrying him really hurting me ir the baby? If im not in any pain or out of breath?

Also what about pregnant women lifting their arms above their head or reaching for something.   Is it true the umbilical cord can get twisted around the baby just from lifting my arms above my head??

People have tried to scare me with the cord thing. I'm short and almost always reaching above my head witg both arms. As for lifting I agree that it's more for us because of the strain pregnancy alone puts on our bodies. Last week I visited with my nephews and niece that I haven't seen in 3 years and my stubborn self had to lift all of them. A 7, 5, and 3 year old. At my app this week all was good.

I was told nothing over 30lbs...but don't tell my husband I was still lifting 40lb PCs for work.  I wasn't doing it all the time but once and a while I was. I think they tell you that more for you. Its much easier to pull a muscle because they are relaxed.  I've never heard anything about the cord moving around the baby if you lift your arms.

I lift my daughter and she is 35lbs but I'm like u not a lot. I figure like u if it don't hurt then I wouldn't think it is hurting me or the baby. I just don't do it if its no necessary.

I've always heard that you should never lift anything over 20lbs. not sure how it hurts u or baby, but its not good. Pretty sure 35lbs is considered "heavy lifting" and the bigger you get, the worse it is on you. As for the arms over the head, complete urban legend. I even asked my doc & he said if cord is.wrapped around neck it had nothing to do with raising ur arms. It either happens or doesn't, u have no control over it.
