thank you guys so much i really needed to hear that can't wait til monday
I don't understand why some midwives do
It that early mine didn't even try to hear a heartbeat till I was 16 1/2 weeks lol
I have my scan same day as you so good luck I'll be thinking of you! X
oh, so you haven't had an ultrasound yet? THATS why you didn't hear the heartbeat.
I didn't understand the difference between hearing the heartbeat on a dopplar & hearing it on an ultrasound either. It had to be explained to me.
ultrasound = 6-8 weeks along
dopplar = 10-12 weeks
usually this is the case. some women it takes longer.
don't worry about symptoms too much. mine come & go too.
best wishes!
the nurse used a doppler on my belly the doctor didnt look worried but i just got a lil worried myself i was nine weeks when she did it maybe thats why she ordered an ultrsound but i havent had it yet not til monday
im trying to relax i got an ultrasound coming up 11/22 and i will be 11 weeks then i hope i see it or hear it then my friend got me a lil concerned but thanks i needed to hear that
What was she using to look for a heartbeat? The dopplar that is placed on top of the abdomen picks up fetal heartbeats between 10-12 weeks. (usually)
An ultra sound can detect a heartbeat beginning at 6 weeks. usually 6-8. Although, I THINK in the early weeks a transvaginal ultra sound needs to be used to get a heartbeat before 9 weeks, not real sure.
Perhaps you are off a week or so. Was an ultrasound done? was anything seen?
did the nurse use a dopplar on the stomach? if so I think it would be normal to not hear a heartbeat.
It all depends on how the heartbeat was looked for. It is also common for symptoms to come & go. How did the nurses & doctors act?
I wasnt able to hear one at that time either, dont worry.....they are so tiny at that stage and are below the pubic bone. Try to relax, I bet your next visit youll hear it
