You need to call and ask a pharmacist this IMMEDIATELY before you take another dose....you should always take medicine as directed, and if you have trouble taking a pill let the pharmacist or prescribing doctor know so they can help you find a solution.
It's possible that this is ok, but it could also be unsafe - please call a 24hr pharmacy and speak to a pharmacist right away just to be sure.
I would call right away!! I agree that can be very unsafe. You should have mentioned this to your dr before they prescribed it. I took prometrium 100mg 3x a day from the time I ovulated til week 12 but I took it orally as prescribed and had no issues. If you have a problem with taking meds in pill form you should also have your dr put a note in your chart so if you need any other meds during the pregnancy the dr will remember to have it in a liquid.
Also the only other forms of progesterone that I am aware of is a vaginal suppository which not all insurance companies cover and by injection. And trust me choking down a pill is MUCH better than getting a shot in your bum everyday for 12 weeks. Having a black and blue tush for several months is not fun but sometimes you just have to grin and bear it to do what is best for baby.
