Pregnancy

I'm 27 weeks pregnant, doctor said I'm gaining too much weight I've gained 26 pounds already, I'm not swollen or retaining water. Can I be gaining weight because I'm always constipated? She said I can be gaining weight/fat in my vagina..

Thanks & I need to let her know again, she has told
me that I need more fiber but I've always had the constipation even before pregnancy but then I would take laxatives, but now its even worse.
Thank you all for sharing!

Just some more reassurance for you all, with my first i started out at 133. Delivered a little man of only 7lb 6oz but gained 67lbs. I lost almost all the weight with in 2 months. Dr. And i kept logs of my eating habits and water intake, no reason for the weight gain, just the way my body coped with the changes. I am now 30 weeks with my 2nd and started off. At 154, and now weigh 180..total weight gain of 26lbs.  My personal goal is to stay below 185. My ob has not said one thing about weight gain and i was told..keep your sugars down, flush your body with water never salt your foods and eat lots of foods that boost your metabolism :) Every pregnancy/woman is different!

I wouldn't worry about it too much, I think everyone is different. I was always skinny, then w my first pregnancy gained like 52 lbs total which is a lot. But I lost 35 to 40 during birth and was eventually able to lose the rest. I had a big, healthy boy 9lbs 5oz. As long as baby is healthy, don't sweat it. Good luck!

I wouldnt worry too much about it...with my first i gained 90 lbs. (Yikes!) But this one im 37 wks and up almost 30 lbs..you will lose it when baby is born. If ur eating normal portions and healthy i wouldnt worry about it!

Me too. Its very uncomfortable when I can't go for a week or sometimes a week and a half. I don't understand why I'm gaining so much weight if I'm eating healthy and normal portions
