Pregnant or not?

I am a 21 year old female. My husband and I have not used protection for the past three years and have not concieved yet. I have now missed 2 periods. I want to be pregnant so I am nervous all the signs are a false pregnancy. I have some nausea, heartburn, insomnia some nights, other nights can't get enough sleep, I eat like crazy, headaches, a lot of light cramping, gassy, and going to the bathroom a lot. I have taken two at home pregnancy test and both said negative, however, the second negative was a very faint line. The other negative was a very bold line. Is it possible my HCG levels are slowly comming up and the HPT can not recognize them yet?

Home pregnancy tests are not quantitative - meaning you can not determine what your levels are doing, e.g. rising/falling based on line boldness.  Boldness of the negative result also does not mean anything.

If you think you might be pregnant, either wait a week and retest or visit your doctor for a blood test.  It is certainly possible you are in the early stages of pregnancy (conception a few weeks ago) and the test was performed to soon.

Also, have you spoken to you OBGYN about you difficulties trying to conceive?  Many doctors recommend that you make an appointment if you have been trying to conceive for a year without  success.  If you go in for a blood test and are not pregnant, your doctor can run further tests to determine if there is a medical reason for this and what can be done to improve your odds of getting pregnant.
