I took two months worth with my first baby, and 2 pills with this one. So far so good. I don't just refuse them, but they just doesn't make me feel good so i skip them with the ok from my doctor. They are precautionary, not mandatory.
I would forget to take them half the time earlier in my pregnancy. It wasn't until I was put on iron that I remembered to take them, and that was at 28ish weeks. But everything looks perfect with my baby girl and I'm 34 weeks now.
I take my vitamins just in case.. Even though everything looks great.. I still take them for the extra calcium because babies need extra calcium for growth..
I didn't take anything with my son (now 3 years old) and he is perfectly healthy. and I am 12 weeks now and only took vitamins for the first like 2 weeks.. I cant do it.. they ALL make me sick.. just keep watching what you eat.. Baby will get all the nutrients and stuff from you! so watch what you eat.. the prenatels are meant to give you back what baby takes! so eat well, exercise and you will fine :)
Im 22+4, and ive taken maybe 2 months worth before my doc told me all ny blood work without them was excellent and baby was perfectly healthy. It made me think as long as Ikeep up with my exercise and eat well then theres nothing for me to worry about. Women waaaay before didnt even KNOW they were pregnant and would help out with house chores and eat undercooked meats and lived around paints with toxins in them.. so I dont feel like me and my baby need the prenatals.
