Prescription for Morning Sickness?!

Hi Ladies,

I am having my first ultra sound tomorrow, and I actually have my initial nurse intake appointment today. They are thinking I'm either 6w3d or 7w3d. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.... Pretty exciting!

Well, I'm have the most awful morning sickness- serioiusly, throwing up like 7 or 8 times a day- even if I'm not throwing anything up, I'm dry-heaving and it feels like I'm constantly carsick. I feel so dramatic, but I just can't help it! My nurse wrote a prescription for Reglan today. I'm supposed to have a pill a 1/2 hour before breakfast, lunch and dinner, and then before bed. Unfortunately so far today I've had two doses and I don't feel much better at all...

Anyone else try any medication for morning sickness? What worked for you, and how long did it take for it to start working for you?

Thank you so much! :)

Mandy

All day yesterday the Reglan did not work at all... however, I woke up this morning feeling SO much better! Ha, I feel rediculous that it was like, the miracle pill for me- I am hoping that it's not just for the day- I hope it's for a while!

Thank you so much for your help, ladies! If the Reglan stops working I'll definitely talk to the doctor about Zofran.

:)

I also needed zofran with both pregnancies. It made me not vomit, but the nausea was still there.

My ob recommended unisom(the plain kind not the quick release) 1/2 pill 4xdaily.  It actually helped some. They said if it was still unmanageable I could get something else but the unisom helped so I didnt bother.  Good luck to you.

I was never given reglan. I took Phenergan and Zofran, though the zofran never did much for me. If you're still getting sick frequently you might need to go to the hospital to make sure you're not getting dehydrated.

Congrats on the pregnancy! I had the worst morning sickness where I was throwing up 15 times a day and the only thing that made it go away to where I only felt like puking, but didn't was zofran. Even that was only good for about 4 hours at a time.

Did the vomiting slow down at all from the reglan?
