Procedures in Ireland

Hi, im a ftm, I dnt know how many mothers are on here from ireland but im completely confused about whats to happen over the next 7 months. Im 8 weeks pregnant, saw my doctor at 5 weeks who didnt do a pregnancy test herself as me doin 3 home tests was enough for her. All she did was take my blood pressure and tell me the dos and donts. I have no idea when I am supposed to see anyone next. I am told not to expect my first scan until around 20 weeks. Surely you dont fo half way through your pregnancy without seeing anyone! Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I'm not too sure about Ireland but I live in Wales. I saw my midwife at 7w who also didn't do a urine test, but I had been to the.hospital 3 weeks previously and.blood work confirmed my pregnancy. At the first.visit I had my blood pressure checked, I was weighed, she went through the.do's and don'ts. Then I didn't see her again for months.
I had an US at 12+4, there is.optional blood work at 16w to test for Down.Syndrome and.other chromosomal defects. I declined these tests, but do your research and.decide for yourself.
I then had an.anomaly US at 19+4 where I also found out I am expecting a baby girl.
By this point I still hadn't seen my midwife since.my initial appt at 7w.
The.next time I.saw.my.midwife was at 25w.
Since then I.have seen her every 3 weeks. I am 33w tomorrow and.my next.appt is at 34w. After.that appt I will go every 2 weeks until baby is.born
