Progesterone

Good morning,

I'm 41 years old and I'm 5weeks and 5 days today. My last LMP was 10/6/13.. I had to miscarriage back to back one in 2012 and another Jan Yesterday had a doctor's appointment to verify pregnancy and my doctor put me on Progesterone 100mg by mouth once in the morning and once at night. However I have read some women prefer to place the oral medications in their vagina is this safe and is this better to take like this OVER mouth? She's sending me to a high risk because she thinks injection would be better, but I must take the pills until my appointment with them. What are my chances of a 3rd miscarriage? Should I be worried, because I am. My doctor says im not consider high risk became I only had to miscarriage, but we don't know what caused them..Well my other doctor before my new one said my age played a part. But my my period cycle is 24days and I have a short lethal level of ,9. Please advise..Sorry so long im just worried and don't want to lose my baby.. I go to my first prenatal appointment on Dec 30 and I should be around 10 weeks. Thank u again for your HELP.

I'm 24. My fiance and I have had 2miscarriages a few years apart. I got pregnant a month after I miscarried. I found out at 5weeks, I'm now 22+4 expecting a little girl. I absolutely 100% think the progesterone shots are what helped keep the pregnancy going until she was strong enough to grow on her own:). The shots sucked bc the medicine is so thick and it kind of feels like a ball in ur arm, but you have to use your arm as much as possible and it goes away. I was so nervous and scared that Id experience another mc but thank God my dr had mentioned it and I got put on the shots the very same day of my ultrasound. From week 5-12. I don't know about the pills, but the shots GO FOR IT! :) Ihope this helps, good luck!
