symptoms of vertigo, maybe?

i've spoke w/ my ob about feeling extrememly dizzy and lightheaded and he told me i may need to see my primary which i haven't done yet (of course!)...  so before i am able to do that i was hoping to get some opinions!  i was wondering if maybe the symptoms i have may be vertigo?  i'm not familiar w/ anything that causes an inner ear imbalance or other stuff like that...  what my question is, can this be something just caused by my pregnancy?  (that way i maybe don't have to go to the doc!)  or do you think that it may not be pregnancy related?

I also experienced vertigo when I was pregnant..I had it during the end of my 1st pregnancy and then I had it during my second...I still every now and then get an episode of it...what I do is sleep on 2 pillows with my head elevated and I try and get up from bed very slowly and sit on the side of the bed for awhile when I wake up...My ob/gyn did give me anti-vert when I was at the end of my pregnancy (it is equivalent to dramamine) but I would NOT take anything unless you speak with your Doctor..I know the feeling and it can be horrible...Take Care and Be Well..Gia :)

I had symptoms of vertigo before & it is always worse when u r lying down.  My regular doc (who was a hoot) told me that vertigo is pretty much like a little follicle that is in ur brain & it is just floating around in there & it has no where to go!!!  I was like "WHAT!!!", but she said that it nothing that is very serious.  I was much like u kennedydp5 I almost fell trying to get out of bed one time, but what she told me to do when lying in the bed & before I get up is to find something to look at on the wall or on the ceiling & just stare at it until everything stops moving & that is what I did & within like a week or so it was gone.  There was not anything that she could give me to take.  She just told me to do that little exercise (so to speak) before I got out of bed every morning or whenever I felt it coming on.  Knock on wood I have not had any of those symptoms in about 4 yrs.  Oh but I was not preggers either so I don't know if that would have something to do with it or not.  I hope that I helped u out!!

hey... thanks!  i'm used to feeling nauseaous and stuff like that (regular pregnancy discomforts)...  but this, i just can't seem to get past!!!  i'll call my primary tomorrow since my ob has already said he doesn't think its pregnancy related (to him anyways!) and see what they say.  i just don't want to have to go to the regular doc, ya know?!?!  i hadn't read anything about vertigo until last night, so i wanted to see if anyone knew anything about it.  also, i was wondering about why it happens more severly when i'm already laying down...  that doesn't make sense to me!

I don't know if it is pregnancy related or not either.  I am going to be talking to my doctor about it since I have been experiencing this myself.  I will let you know what he says!!  Hope you start feeling better soon.

do you think that this is something i should see my primary about?  or do you think it would be ok to wait and see if its something that would go away after delivery?

i feel some level of dizziness/ lighteheadedness everyday...  sometimes more severe than others.  and actually when its severe, it comes on while i'm already laying down.  i'm not usually doing any physical activity when i feel it really strong.  this is my 4th pregnancy and this has never happened to me before...  and of course dh even told me last night "every pregnancy is different"!!!  i hate that!

Well I have had an episod of vertigo about 3 years ago and it was horrible, not even really sure thats what it was but when I was sleeping the night before this all happened something popped in my neck around my ear and when I woke up the following morning I fell trying to get out of bed, I went straight to the doctor and my blood pressure was super high, I was literally dizzy for 2 weeks and for the first week I couldnt walk really good...it was scary...Im now 10 weeks pregnant and every now and then I feel the same way but its not constant.....maybe pregnancy related dunno....but my midwife did say that when you are pregnant you dont have as much blood flow to your brain because its all going to the baby.....dont know if she was serious or not...but I feel like its true
