Question about BB's during Mid-Pregnancy. I'd love advice of mom's

TMI here, but since I got pregnant I've gone up almost 2 cup sizes from a D to almost DDD. I've noticed in the last month that my areola's(sp?) have gotten alot bigger.(since I hit 4 mo) particularly in the last 3 weeks.

It also seems that when my nipples get hard they're(areola) smooth and the areola is still big instead of shrinking.. IS THIS NORMAL??

I'm only asking because it wierds me out and I've noticed DH giving me funny looks when he sees them. I guess that I'm wondering if it's just my bb's getting ready to begin making milk, I know bb's grow, but didn't realize that the areolas spread out and get bigger. They've doubled in size so far, but my nip's are about the same size. For those who don't know I'm almost 22 weeks.  *YAY*

yea, I knew about the darkening (i've had it) and leakage(not had it yet)

but didn't know about them spreading out and getting bigger.  I looked on another site, babycenter.com and checked out the info for 22weeks pregnant, and right there in Black and White it talks about it and how it's just apart of pregnancy.

Its also normal for your areolas to darken during pregnancy and for leakage to occur from the nipple.

Yes, that's totally normal. Believe it or not but your baby will suck in that entire area when they nurse. You won't be able to see your aerola when you nurse. That is one sign to let you know baby is latched on correctly.

When you first start feeding it is bad enough (the wear and tear) on your nipple.

I can't begin to imagine the pain if they fed off your breast skin....

Ouch !!!

yes that is normal.

You want the baby's mouth on the areola because it is 'tougher' than your breast skin.

It is like a feeding pad.
