Vomitting in the 3rd trimester

=( So the last week or two, I have started vomitting again..  its still no more than once a day, in the evenings only and its every couple days  not a daily thing.. it really upsets me because it tends to come on suddenly without warning..

I am trying to keep my calorie intake up and not lose weight but if this continues, I dont know what to do .... I need advice.. i know there was alot of people who have been sick there whole pregnancy..

But why now...   Of course I forgot to mention this at my OB appointment today because it didnt seem like it was a pattern until today and I didnt think of it...  Its brushing my teeth that has been leading to it for the most part....  tonight, i tried to minimally brush my teeth so this wouldnt happen.. and i almost made it.. then as I laying there in bed, it hit so quick, I puked everywhere...  even hit my brand new playyard.. which is awesome... =(

I am going to try brushing my teeth earlier like right after my snack rather than right before bed ... to see if it helps because i did that last night and i felt really nauseated before bed again but didnt end up throwing up probably because i didnt have to worry about brushing my teeth...    i have to brush my teeth but what can i do if its going to keep causing me to puke at night..  at least tonight it wasnt my dinner that came up but its so upsetting to me

anyone else experience random vomiting in the 3rd trimester and any tips would be great.

call the morning sickness helpline at sick kids hospital in toronto. they are awesome!!! they spent 45 minutes going through EVERYTHING with me to help me pinpoint what to try to alleviate my nausea -- highly recommend them. their number is 1-800-436-8477

Thanks for the tips...   I sleep on both sides.. i usually start on the left side then switch to the right (I am more comfortable generally on the right) when my hips go numb.  I am pretty sure i hae restless leg syndrome now too so I rotate back and fourth...  Also my baby is transverse and I read that if you only lie on one side (when your baby is transverse), it can cause the muscles supporting your uterus to grow angled and make your baby less likely to flip around...

Im going to try the brushing my teeth earlier and then maybe the haing a cracker or something after if I am feeling nausea to see if any of this can help....

I am so glad that i havent been one of those all day every day people, because it is soooo rough.  I hate the 3rd trimester vomitting..  Every time I vomit it sets me back in my weight gain and for the last 2 weeks it seems every time i start to gain i get sick then lose again..  iam going to get some ensure drinks to have in the house for days where I get sick as well, to see if maybe that can help replace the loss nutrients...  I did stay up a bit after last night and eat something before going to bed to replace the loss but it wasnt as holistic as my original snack in terms of incorporating multiple food groups so.

try changing toothpaste brands....the weirdest things can set you off.

and i know this sounds counter-productive, but try eating 1 cracker after you brush your teeth..the taste won't be fantastic, and it's obviously silly to eat after you brush your teeth, but it may settle your stomach and it won't have enough sugar to be detrimental...

unfortunately i have no major tips for 3rd tri vomiting..i've been a victim both times so far. with my daughter i puked the whole pregnancy..with my son I threw up the first tri, not the 2nd, then vomited like crazy the entire 3rd....so far this pregnancy i've thrown up EVERY single day for the last 2 1/2 weeks..it's awful.

ask for some nausea medicine...sip ginger ale, eat crackers, that's all you can do when your stomach is roiling....i found that chewing ice chips worked better for me than nausea medicine and to this day even when i'm not pregnant if my stomach is upset i chew ice and it settles it.

i hope you get some relief...do you normally lie on one side versus the other? you're SUPPOSED to lie on your left side to get relief from pregnancy nausea (because of the way the stomach is shaped) but i always throw up if i do that...i HAVE to lie on my right side.
