While generally safe, water births can carry a risk of infection. If water washes up into the uterus, you can end up with a pretty serious infection. It's not common, but there is still an increased risk.
I had my water birth on the 4th of March. That was such a fast labour! 2 hours and 20 minutes after I lost my mucus plug, Xavier was born naturally in water without any medications!! I had gas under shower just before going into the bath but midwives are not allowing gas if you are in a bath...girls for me bath didn't relax me but speed up the process and it is definitely worth to give it a go!! Good luck mummies xxx
I didn't get to do it with my first because they didn't like the colour of the water going to try it again
I sooo wanted one but my doctor told me no :(
I wanted it my insurance doesn't cover it :/
With my 1st baby i tried a water birth but he wouldnt come out. Im going to try again with this baby. Ive found being in the water quite soothing and you dont feel as heavy. Remember if you try it and it doesn't work for you or you dont like it you can always get out and try something else
I always wanted to try it but never got the guts to was always scared
Are you allowed gas in the pool? Or not allowed anything?
I am definitely doing one, 19 weeks pregnant. We even have hospitals with all the facilities in Australia and midwives encourage girls to give birth in water if no complications and health allow it
