Question for you ladies!!

I haven't been on the site for a while so I hope you ladies are all doing well!  Last week I found out that I have gestational diabetes :(  I've been following the meal plans but my blood sugar is still high!  Do any of you have any tips as to how to lower it?? I'll try anything at this point!  I'm eating 1 net carb for snacks and 3 net carbs for each meal.

Thanks.  I've tried adding protein but some meals I think it works and sometimes it doesn't.  My mom is type 1 diabetic so I've been around diabetes my whole life.  I'm just so frustrated that I'm doing exactly what my nutritionist has advised me and it's still high.

My mom is just plain diabetic (not pregnant).  But she says it helps to eat a serving of protein when you eat a serving of carbs because it helps stabilize your blood sugar and keeps it from going up and down.  I think it's something about the way your body metabolizes stuff.  Also, there are mixed studies out on this right now, but I don't think it would hurt to try- adding cinnamon to stuff like oatmeal, applesauce, etc.  Some studies say it helps blood sugar; other studies say it does nothing.  Wish I had better advice for you.
