Trying to Conceive after D&C

My husband & I experienced a blighted ovum on November 9th and had a D&C on November 10, 2007. I saw my Dr. for a follow-up on Dec. 10 and he said I would get my period soon and that we could "try again" after two cycles. I have still not gotten my period! When will my body get back to "normal?" Also, is it possible to ovulate w/o a period? We want so badly to be pregnant again and the wait is so stressful!

hey, sorry about your loss, i had one on nov 19th. it wasnt bad at all. they brought me in started a iv , put some med that knocked me out. im not sure how long i was out. i hurt a lil that night which the med they gave me helped. the next day i was fine and back to normal things.

A D&C is not bad at all.....I had no cramping and very little light brownish discharge for a week or so and got my period just this past week...30 days after the D&C......Good luck eyes620

My husband and I also experienced a Blighted Ovum.I had a miscarriage on January 8th 2008 and my d&c is on January 14th and i m really scared, did it hurt and how much time did u need to go back to your routine after.

I had D&C on Christmas 2006.  I didn't get my period for a while and the Dr. gave me some medication Prevara (I think- it began with a P)and that induced a period within a couple days.   I know how hard it is to wait until you can try again.  Hang in there, you have a lot of support here.

You can become pregnant before a period. It took me 8 weeks exactly (or 52 days) to get a period after my miscarriage. I didn't have a D&C though.

I got pregnant after that first cycle and my DD is now 9 months old. Getting pregnant soon after a m/c doesn't mean you'll m/c again!

I had a D&C on Dec. 10th and just for the heck of it did an OPT and it showed that I was ovulating about 10 days after the D&C....Still no period yet though......My Doc too told me to wait 3 cycles before trying again....which I'm not doing as many people on here had mentioned they only say that for dating purposes (like Depressed mentioned).......I'm not concerned about that...I'm 34 and want a baby!  Best of luck.  Oh yeah, they told me 5-6 weeks before I would get a period...but also used the old standby "everyone is different though".

i had a dand c nov 19th. af showed up dec 24th.take you a test to make sure your not preg allready and let your doc know you have not started. keep us posted   ; )

Hello I had a miscarriage in Sept 07 and although I did not have to have a D&C I tried to get pregnant right away and low and behold I became pregnant 2 weeks after my miscarriage. No peroid no nuttin. Although it was agnisr my doctors recomendations.

From what I read you can get right back pregnant without having a period and normally with a d&c they tell you wait for three cycles for dating purposes. It will take a while to get you periods back to normal.  I too just had a blighted ovumm but I did not do a d&c and I think I should because I bled for a week and now I am bleeding again so depressing.
