Questions about effacement

Today I went to the doctor and he said I was 70% effaced and not dialated.  When I reach 100% does that mean I'll go into labor? When does your water break or when will I lose my mucus plug?  Im 38 weeks pregnant and a FTM.

Bump. I'm very curious about this as well. I went for my 38 week check up today and I was told I'm 80% effaced but not dilated and baby is very low.

Not necessarily.  It just means your cervix will be completely thinned out.
It's completely up to your body when baby comes.
No one knows.
You may never lose your plug.

Exactly what she said. I was 100% effaced and 0CM dilated for the longest time. It just means your babies head is in final position and your cervix is that % thinned out. So, when your baby does decided to come, he/she will just push on through the cervix lol.
