Question for my DB sister on HCG level at 11 dpo

My boyfriends sister found out at 8dpo that she was pregnant with a home pregnancy test... She had a beta done at 11dpo and the progestrone was 24 but her hcg was only 31... She is afraid that she is pending a miscarriage. So I guess my question is, is that a normal reading....???

The doctor called her back and said that 31 at 11dpo is great and he scheduled her an appointment next Tuesday for her 1st OB so I am excited for her!

I think it could be. Everyone is different. Most people don't get a pos reading that early to begin with. If the Dr don't seemed worried about it I would be. Or she could ask to get her levels tested again in a few days to see if they doubled yet or not.

I kept peeing on them too just because I wanted darker lines. The $ store ones vary so much and I wouldn't depend on their darkness to determine the viability of the baby.

On 21dpo my hcg was at 588 and I wasn't getting darker on the DOLLAR STORE tests either. I barely showed on them at all. In fact, I was convinced that I was wanting to see a line so bad because it was so faint, so I went and got a First Response Early Response. It was a rather dark line and there was no denying the +!

I wouldn't think that it would be very dark on the hpt b/c of the level of the hormone.  The lower the level the lighter the line.  I got a BFP on a test at around 8dpo and you could barely see the line (on the doctors office test) then took at digital a couple hours later and it showed Pregnant.

Thanks ladies I know she will be glad to hear that. I guess her major concern is that her dollar store tests are not getting any darker... She is really scared. They have been trying for 6 months and this is the first BFP she has gotten

I would say that is fine. It's very early so low numbers are ok. At 17dpo, I was only at 94. As long as they double every 2 days, she should be fine! :)

My hcg has always ran low, which isn't saying much because all four times have eneded in miscarriage BUT it did double up until about 6-8 weeks with all of the pregnancies.  So I did finally get into 1900's before I miscarried which is where they were to be but I also have MTHFR so that has something to do with mine.

I have not gotten my BFP yet. We decided to stop trying for a few months! It was really stressing me out.

I will let her know what you said! I am sure that will be of some relief... I have no idea what an hcg level at that stage is since with my son I found out I was pregnant at just shy of four weeks and my hcg was 708 .

For testing done at 11 dpo it sounds normal to me...

hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :

3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml
Postmenopausal females: <9.5 mIU/ml

That came from http://www. *****************. org/duringpregnancy /hcglevels.html  obviously no spaces.  But for as early as she is then it sounds good.
