Just trying to inform. What was your risk for T18? I have seen enough of these cases to strongly feel yours is a false positive. What blood test? The "quad screen"? What is your gestational age? With a positive risk for T18, you can have a blood draw for cell-free fetal DNA which is noninvasive to the fetus and is very sensitive for T18, T21, and T13. Ask for a referral to a genetic counselor as long as you have one in your area. Over 90% of fetuses with T18 will have abnormal ultrasound findings. With most common findings being heart defects,, growth restriction, and clenched fists.
Well sorry I didn't know how to explain it properly im just worried
Highly likely a false positive. Your serum analyte level patterns probably put you in that risk. Trisomy 18 IS NOT A FORM OF DOWN SYNDROME. Trisomy 18 is Edwards syndrome and Trisomy 21 is Down syndrome. They are totally different chromosomal abnormalities.
Praying❤️ hang in there mommy, I know it's hard but try not to stress over it. If the dr said that it's a strong chance it's a false positive, go on that! Remember always think the best but don't forget the worst.
Omg I will definitely pray for you! I just seen a video on Facebook of a couple who got the news around 20weeks & were advised to terminate the pregmancy. They decided to keep him & he lived for 4-5days..... beautiful & sad at the same time. Have faith, things will be okay.
Praying for u guys with my second they did a test and thought my daughter might have some mental disability but they didn't know for sure bc they waited to long to test so it wasn't very accurate and my lil girl is three and has no problems at all
Hope everything turns out good. I opted not to have all the extra testing for that very reason because I worry ALOT
Hope everything turns out for you and the baby
Praying I'm not getting one of those test BC I heard they do have a lot of false positive praying
