Reason for Worry

I'm 31 and now expecting my first child.  Before I knew I was pregnant, I consumed a bottle and a half of wine with friends at a get together. During the scope of the pregnancy so far, that has been the only occassion and now that I know I am pregnant it will definately be the last.  Should I be worried?

Nah! Baby should be fine. In very early pregnant, before you can even get a positive result, the placenta is still forming and therefore nothing is passed from you to baby. And even if anything was passed, it was insignificant.

The problems arise when you continue drinking alcohol, which you aren't going to do, so baby will be perfectly fine!!!

I think everyone has done this.  I was going out dancing and drinking before I found out that I was pregnant.  My son is fine.  It's not going to have any effect on the baby.

My Best Friend, before she knew she was preggers she consumed a few wine coolers on a camping trip... She just had her baby boy at the end of last month and is very healthy... Hope this puts your mind at ease...

Your going to be fine, the reason they worry about alchahol consumption during pregnancy, is for those women who drink alot regularly thruout they're pregnancies.

One time isn't bad. Since I finished my first trimester I'll occasionally have a glass of wine. and it's safe! my boy is on track and healthy as of my last U/S. (22weeks so far)

Congrats on your pregnancy!

I wouldn't be......Lots of my friends had done the same and told their Dr.'s about it, and they said there was no need for worry.....As long as you cease use of alcohol from now on, I wouldn't worry......Lots of luck!
