Road trip

I'm a ftm and I'm 37 weeks. My mother-in-law is throwing a baby shower for me but it's a five hour drive and I'll be 38 weeks when the trip is taking place. My question is, has anyone taken a road trip that far along? Was everything okay? My husband's whole family is going to be there and I really want to go to it. Thanks!

I'd say go for it. Of course there's a chance of labor but what are the chances THAT is the day it happens. Just be aware of your body and if any signs occur pay close attention to them and as stated before mentally prepare on case yoy don't make it back to your doctor for delivery. I think it would be good to go and have fun though (:

It's kind of a risk to go so far when your so far in the pregnancy. You can still go just be prepared u may not deliver at your hospital with your doctor if u do go into labor. It's just a chance.

My doctor wants me to be within an hour of the hospital starting at 35 weeks....both of my previous babies were delivered in their 30th week.

You very well could have your baby in the car... It's not very smart to do any travel when you are that far along. My husband was born at 38 weeks. Heck my doctor wouldn't let me travel in my second trimester.
