SCARED TO TAKE PRENATALS!!

Was anyone else? I'm 5 weeks today and havent started to yet. My last two miscarriages were at 4 and a half weeks and no one knows why. Apparently i'm very healthy so my miscarriages confuse me still. i had started taking prenatals both times right when i missed my period and I miscarried. not sure if it relates to that??? So i've been scared to start taking them. Has anyone heard of prenatals causing a miscarriage? I mean its a LOT of vitamins you take at once all random. I mean that seems like a lot for your body without working up to it. Or should I just kick myself in the butt and start taking it?

I haven't took prenatels this whole pregnancy. Just folic acid and iron pills and gummy vitamins. With my first I took prenatels and they made me so sick i almost dehydrated. And as soon as I stopped taking them I felt 100% better. Idk about causing a miscarriage tho :( and sorry for ur loss :( but sending good vibes and baby dust your way!!!

Hi, I'm in same situation. I had a miscarriage last June, as soon I took the prescription prenatal I bled and lost baby. I too am very scared on starting on prenatals. So you said you took it, how are you and baby so far Zim90? I'm 5 weeks so far I feel great, a little fatigue sore breasts, etc normal early pregnancy symptoms not too bad. I am healthy, eating foods high in folate. I know I should start prenatal soon, still so scared. Should I continue just eating healthy?  I did however found an organic wholesome food base prenatal, read all nutrition labels it's all same as regular prenatal difference is this is all organic and made from food base versus synthetic prenatals that has other crap on it that mother and baby don't need. Scared my baby won't develop healthy, but then again I think of back then where there were no prenatal and women was giving birth left and right to healthy babies with no prenatal pills. Just going to be positive, eat well and not worry too much, I however would like your opinions ladies thanks.

Yea some friends took the gunny vitamins, some for sick from the iron. If I start to feel bad from it I'll try something else. Its good to know ppl only sometimes get sick from it but not miscarry. Knufrio I was taking too much b vitamin few months ago and was peeing green haha its good to know my body will filter out the access vitamins.

Its hard to have "too many vitamins" if you have properly functioning liver and kidneys any extra you consume will just come out through urine.

Agree 100% with moma2Eli, i have been taking prenatal vitamins since around 5 weeks of my pregnancy all my blood test was fine but even to fine, my midwife was always shocked with my blood test, and i didnt feel right...finelly my doctor told me i may just simply dnt need to take them so i stoped and i feel so much beter now i even sleep better. To much vitamins is bad for ur body as well so as long ur blood test r fine i recomend not to take them just eat healthy... And maybe try only folic acid for first three month coz thats for ur baby's brain. Good luck x

Prenatels are important particularly during first 3 months. And try stay positive about this pregnancy I hope it goes well. Your almost half way through the first trimester.

Prenatal vitamins do not cause miscarriages. Miscarriages are usually caused by some sort of genetic defect in the fetus that is incompatible with life. Others are caused by trauma or acute illness.

Prenatal vitamins do not cause miscarriages. Prenatal vitamins help prevent severe birth defects.
