SUMMER HEAT HELP

hello, my daughter will be four months when we go on vacation to Lake Havsu ARIZONA...it's usually high 90s low 100s when we will be going. What should I do to protect her from the sun/heat? How long do you think it's ok for her to be out? We will be on a boat most of the time that is shaded. It's actually pretty cool being under the shade... Please answer

Since my four year old will be 5 may first and I'm due on may 4th, We are not doing anything For her birthday and waiting until June When my 6 weeks are up. Baby will be 6 Or 7 weeks old... We are taking her to typhoon lagoon (Florida) as a birthday celebration.  Our plan For The baby Is to get a fan That clips on to The carseat / stroller, keep her shaded from sun pretty much At All times. And light clothing, either a little bathing suit If We can find one small enough Or Just plain white onesie. Im going to bring extra water bottles to splash her with If She looks as If She's getting to hot and Also make sure to have Some baby wipes of course, I'll occasionally undress her under shade and wipe her down, let her get Some fresh air Then redress her. I know That Florida and Arizona have very different temps But I'm sure getting The clip on fan will be a big help. And Just make sure to have water That can be splashed on her Or a frozen water bottle to rub on her legs n arms If needed.

You can use sunscreen for babies under 6 months. You just buy a childrens sunscreen with titanium dioxide(hypoallergenic ingredient)spf 30. Just dont slather but dab it on areas that will potentially be exposed more to sun. Ive done it before as advised by my OB.

My dr said if you're comfortable then baby is comfortable. She will let you know if she's know if she's not (crying, red) and to keep baby hydrated. (: just had this conversation today lol

Make sure there are shade because your baby soft spot can go down. Definetly take some clothes that are light. If you see her sweating bad please have her in her pampers only. Carry water to put over her body or wipes to wipe her down to make her feel refresh from the heat.

Babies under 6 months can't wear sunscreen. Also they can get overheated very easily. Definitely have shade and if in shade lightweight clothing. Also if you are breastfeeding make sure you feed on demand regularly and if formula feeding that she is eating well.  Check with the pediatrican for how long an infant should be out on heat and sun at that age.

Definitely get some baby sunscreen. I would talk to her doctor though about what strength is safe for her age range and how long she can be outside. They'll probably have some good suggestions am guidelines.
