Second opinion?

I haven't had a period since Jan 31st. I haven't been under much stress lately nothing major I also have some pregnancy symptoms. Both urine test was negative also a blood test. This has never happened before i've had a period every month for over 8 years now. Should I get a second opinion? Or could it be to early to tell? My doctor said the next step is to take pills for ten days that will help start a period but i'm not to sure about that.

If your pregnant.. You would be able to tell by now.. I would get a second opinion .. And if they give you the same results .. Then you should de-stress.. Try exercising..

Thanks soo much ! I'm ok now I was a little upset this morning but everything happens for a reason. I'll be moving this weekend & it's the end of the school year so i'm trying to stay focused maybe a baby right wouldn't have been a good thing even though I had gotten use to the idea. The stress wouldn't have been healthy. This experience matured me, my whole mindset has changed. I've accepted it,in a way i'm thankful it made me aware of all the things that could happen that you just don't think about. Even though I wasn't pregnant I went through everything that a pregnant person goes through in a way & I feel like that was taken away this morning. As long as i'm healthy I know I can get through anything. When my day comes this experience will make me appreciate it so much more .

Im glad everything is ok with you health wise and that you started your period but im concerned about your emotional state, i have been reading and keeing up with the conversation and i have to ask, are you ok? Like you said you started reading up a lot on pregnancy and from what i gathered you kinda did have it in your mind that you was pregnant. I have been there before and i have also had two very bad and emotional miscarriages, and after setting youself up like that and then you start your period it is kinda heart breaking. So im here as im sure the other woman are as well to be here for you. Like i said i kept up with the convo and i know all the tests were saying no but your body and mind was saying yes and sometimes we know better than any doctor or tests but now with you starting your period im sure it feels like a def confirmation now that your not pregnant. I could be wrong but i just want to make sure your ok and for you to know that its ok if your sad about it or upset and its normal, and we are all here for you if you want to talk or need to talk. Take care and keep us updated sweetie

Just my opinion but I would start taking prenatals and take care of yourself as you were pregnant and if doctors send you away just wait a couple more weeks and if you dont get your cycle than take another test :) just whatever happens dont stress yourself out, its bad for you and definitely bad for a baby. Good luck to you!!

I agree, I didn't bring those up b/c I just don't think that's the case.. but I just wanted to make sure you didn't misunderstand me.. like I've said before, I've been in your shoes & everything was fine!

best thing to do is NOT stress b/c if you are pregnant then that's the last thing you should be doing.. stressing!

so yes, just be prepared for any given situation & get you and/or the baby healthy. I'll be praying for you! keep me updated!! (((:

I hope that isn't the case :/ but I think i've pretty much prepared myself for whatever happens. Either way it's going to be an emotional situation. I just want to be healthy at the end of the day for myself & my baby if that's the case. I just want to stop being so worried.

okay, let me clarify just in case I was misunderstood..

1) yes, it does happen, as in the above person's case, where your body rejects a pregnancy early on & throws your body off track, but MOST cases they're able to still detect a low hcg level & everything goes back to normal. women reject pregnancies every day & don't even know it. - since you had a blood test I assume they didn't pick up on one.
2) I didn't recommend you ask for an ultrasound just to see if they saw or see a baby, I advise the ultrasound just to check on your ovaries, tubes, uterus, and/or cervix.. just to make sure it's all in working order.. a cyst alone can screw up your cycle, been there & done that.. I was NOT telling you to get one to look for a baby! lol just wanted to clear that up!!

again, good luck & keep me updated! ((((:

BTW, if your way too early or your body rejected the pregnancy then you will not see anything on the ultrasound...

It could be possible you got pregnant but your body rejected the pregnancy early... This happened to me in 2008 I had to do the pills to start my period back up and a month later I peed out the embryo...

p.s. added you as a friend so I could keep up with you! lol I was kind of pissed with my doctor b/c all she said was, "well, it's normal. you're fine." I'm like.. that's is? I'm fine? just go home?!!! lol but after starting my period that night I felt kind of stupid.. but whatever, we're women & we worry! ((:

you're welcome!! I surely hope so! it will at least tell you if all your lady parts are looking good in there, so to speak lol! -- I pretty much ASKED for one just to make sure.. I always had a thought in my mind something wasn't right & I'd never be able to get pregnant.. we always think too much & make things worse. we've all been there..

so, at least this will put your mind and nerves at ease!!
keep us updated!! & good luck! (((:

Ok thanks! A vaginal ultrasound sounds like it would be the solution to all of this.

well your health is a big concern, so I don't see a problem with going to the hospital.. they may even do a vaginal ultrasound there just to make sure nothing is going on. it can see a lot of things that blood work can't..

I can't tell you not to worry b/c I was extremely worried too, but it literally came out to be nothing.. I went to the doctor when I was 10 days late, and I literally started my period THAT night! I'm sure you're fine, but getting a second opinion will not hurt at all!

My doctor said my ovaries & everything are normal. I had blood work done last week when I went to the doctor. I've been three weeks in a row. That also has me worried like they are concerned but can't figure out what the problem is.
I think i'm going to go to the hospital to make sure everything is ok. Maybe i'm worring myself because this has never happened to me. Always been on time never skipped a month.

before taking those pills i WOULD MOST DEF get a second opinion. if the blood test are coming out negative then idk maybe you're not pregnant you are making yourself think you. you can do that. women do it all the time. DOES NOT mean you're crazy at all just means you're convinced from a missed period you are. but id go have them do an ultrasound and more test. but id go to the hospital or a specialist. good luck!

have they brought up doing a vaginal ultrasound just to check things out? I've had one done to check my ovaries in the past, I was jw if they've ever considered doing that for you..
