We went to the fertility doctor here in NC and had the test done....but like Ovaz129 said we had to pay for it out of pocket...Here it only cost $ 75.00 and we had the test results back the next day......Good Luck to you.....
You can go to a fertility specialist... but 99% of the time you will have to pay for the analysis on your own if you go this route. We did (we had been trying for 1 year) and found out that about 50% of his swimmers weren't moving and of those, only 30% were normal shaped. We are candidates for IVF, but we didn't want to go that route quite yet. 4 days after that appointment I became pregnant all on our own and I am now in my 18th week.
How long have you been trying? Really, there isn't a point in checking to see if his swimmers are ok unless you are in a time crunch for health or age reasons or have been TTC for a year without any success. I see that you are also 26 (so am I) so, the doctors really don't want to do any unnecessary testing due to our age.
Assuming there was something abnormal with his sperm, it isn't cheap to "clean up" his sperm and have you inseminated (which is what would happen). So, unless you are ready to take on a huge medical bill I really wouldn't get his sperm tested.
TTC is hard... many women on here will tell you that. So, I say just be patient with mother nature... chart your temps, use OPKs, and watch what you eat and drink. Hopefully you will get preggo soon! :)
my doctor had got result very next day and i called she told me the result, those were absolutely fine.
