Sex during pregnancy

Well iam 21 weeks and me and my partner havent had sex well since we fell pregnant .
Its not like we dont want to its just that he is worried that he is going to hurt the baby .
The doctors have told us that sex during pregnancy is ok and doesnt hurt the baby but my
partner still doesnt.
I know its personal to ask but can anyone please tell me where they stand on sex during pregnancy?

well the dh and i do still have sex and i'm 16 weeks pregnant....the last time we did he completely freaked out thinking he poked one of them in the eye and that they're going to come out saying penis and "tell on us". even after the ob and i both explained that with how tightly the cervix is closed up there is no penetrating the uterous to poke the baby in the eye....he still freaks out. men are just weird. they're paranoid and weird. lol.....can't live with em....can't live without em.

Hi there - my dh and i have had sex most days since we found out (im 23weeks) and its only just now im starting to feel uncomfortable in some positions. but... we compromise :-)
my gp and my ob have both said sex is fine (in fact the hormone released is good for baby) as long as you have not been instructed to abstain. you will get a little light crampy feeling after having a big 'O' but thats normal and very safe. Baby actually enjoys the after effects. Baby will however not no what is going on, will not see what is going on and will certainly not remember it and will definately not be hurt by it. The cervix is bound as tight as anything so nothing can get in to the uterus to 'hurt' the baby'.
enjoy sex and acknowledge the beautiful changes in your body...
if you do experience any unusual severe pain or discomfort during sex then abstain until you see you ob and he can check you out.

all the best and congrats!

My libido more than doubled when I was pregnant...  Oh it was bad.  I wanted to have sex all the time...   and believe me, we had sex at LEAST once a day the whole 9 months...  We had sex the night before my daughter was born.  In a normal healthy pregnancy there is no reason not to have sex.  If you shouldn't have sex your doctor will tell you so.  About being self conscious about your body just remember that you're body is doing a miraculous thing...  Make your body part of the fun...  take plenty of pictures, do body paint, and let your hubby get in on the hands on fun... whatever you can do to make yourself feel better. I know when I was pregnant I would put on makeup and paint my nails, things I don't normally do, so that I felt a little better.  And wear maternity clothes that are fashionable and what you would normally wear if you weren't pregnant.

oh what I did notice was 2nd trimester is a lot better/enjoyable than the first for some reason.    I didn't have any issues after having sex other than needing to use lubricant.

my prob is that I just don't feel that beautiful and that turns me off of sex.  DH is okay with it but I'd def like to be more intimate with him.  We've had sex about once a month since we got preggers.

sex during pregnancy should be of no concern to any of you unless instucted by your doctor. They only thing you may experience after sex is light cramping after orgasim, but that usually does not happen.
