I waited until my second trimester and dyed away!! I had no problems and my son is healthy.  I wouldnt do it during the first trimester when very important organs are forming. Also, when you do it do it in a ventialated room with an open window.

I'm a natural blonde, but dye my hair black and red. Theres no way i could go without dying my hair (no one wants to see 9 months of blonde regrowth lol) its one of the only things that makes me feel good atm. I found alot of conflicting info too. I found a dye at the chemist thats amonia free plant based colour, the pharmacist said its safe to use. Maybe check out some alternative henna or vegetable hair dyes if ur still a little concerned.

i dont think you should chanch it, just wait till after the baby.. U will see that it will be worth it in the end.. Trust me I know how it is, I need highlights so bad, I needed them before I got prego and never got around to it, then when i got prego i was like crap now i gotta wait 9 more months.. but it will be worth it, I usually just wear my hair up all the time now, cause theres nothing I can do with it.. I hear many many different things so i just decided to wait

Oh yes, I have heard all of them. Not good in the first trimester because your scalp can absorb the chemicals to the baby... or on the other side, sure as long as you use aluminum and keep it off of your scalp.

When I asked my doctor this question I was 22 weeks along, and she told me not to bother because if there hair dye does get on your skin or scalp it can cause you to have a skin irritation because when you are preggers your more sensitive to outside chemicals. I didnt even bother until I was out of labor and delivery.

Honest, I would just ask your doc the same question and see what they tell you. I have heard so many different reasons why it is safe or not safe, that I thought I would just play it safe and wait.

Good luck!
