Is there anything I can take to stop my nose from running? My doctor told me I could take regular mucinex from my chest congestion and Robitussin for my cough but he didn't say anything about my runny nose. I am very worried about taking this medication. Is it ok?

If your doctor knows your pregnant then yes those should be fine. I always just take sudafed the regular stuff and it helps a lot.

My doctor told me mucinex too. I still try to take it only when my symptoms are acting up, usually at night, but I double-checked with the pharmacist and she said it was fine for pregnant women. Just make sure you stick with the regular or DM version, other kinds may not be so safe.

They say not to take anything in your first trimester but sudafed is on the ok list.

My list from my doc has sudafed and robitussin on it but not mucinex..every doc had different opinions on safe medication while preggers..but honestly I won't take any of it except tylenol( only when I really, really need it) because I don't want to risk it..why do some docs say its ok and others say no?? Hope you feel better soon....colds  totally stink while preggers!! ;-)
