Sleep aids

has anyone taken Ambien while pregnant? I stopped taking it as soon as I found out, but now im 8 weeks and I cant sleep at all. Im tossing & turning which is keeping my husband awake! Everything ive read on Ambien says its not been proven to harm the baby, but I want to be sure. I never asked my ob about it because I stopped taking it. I cant sleep! What can I do?

My doctor says unisom is safe to take....I have had sleep problems for years I know how frustrating it can be if the teas and milk don't help ask your doctor about unisom

I wouldn't take a sleep aid while pregnant either, and definitely talk to your doctor, you should try to wean yourself of it anyway, because you can't take it with a newborn either, if it makes it harder for you to hear/wake up. And unfortunately, the tossing and turning gets worse as your pregnancy progresses because of discomfort, I'm 26w4d and toss and turn ALL night! :( There's a night time tea a few ladies have recommended to me, it's all natural and I guess it really helps, maybe look into that?

Try drinking hot tea like a decaf peppermint teas or chamomile. You can also try to drink warm milk with vanilla and cinnamon. Turn on a really boring show thatll put you to sleep. Maybe play an app on your phone til you fall asleep. Maybe your husband can try to rub your back until you fall asleep. I would def not take ambien or any other sleep aid while pregnant.
