Sleeping is the hardest thing for me too. I am glad you started this thread...I worry all night but sleeping on my left side is just not comfortable for me..However, when I try my right side I get a pain in my abdomen so I usually end up on my back for a while until I feel guilty and then go back to my left side but all this anxiety and tossing and turning leaves me with little sleep ..I bet I sleep only 2-3 hours a night...it is a misery!
i was told to sleep how ever you are comfortable
I used to only sleep on my stomach. Now, when I unconsciously turn to my stomach, I'm woken up by my sore boobs getting smashed as soon as I hit that position.
I will try to start putting a pillow under one side trick and maybe it will help. Thanks so much!
i am even worse..! Unconciously at nite, i roll over and lay down on my stomach..!! i used to sleep that way and it is hard to change the habit!
i think that the only real damage it does, is it puts a lot of pressure on some important veins/atteries that go to and from your legs, it's just bad for your blood flow really. I don't think it's really hurting anything. I do it sometimes.. I know exactly what you mean, but I usually just try putting a pillow under my right side so I'm like, partially on my side.. It doesn't seem to be much of a difference.. but I feel kind of guilty laying on my back, since it is always advised against. :/
Personally, I don't think it really causes any damage, it's just the risk of getting les oxygen throughout your body, and so to the baby as well.. It may also cause leg cramps, and increased swelling, if you're already having those problems.
