Why risk something that has been scientifically proven to affect an unborn fetus? Science was a whole lot different for our parent's generation, scientist know so much more about the dangers of smoking than before. I just couldn't see myself taking chances like that knowing as many negative stories about it. One positive story out of 10 negatives is simply not a good enough cause to continue

I agree with @renos1stbaby

Everyone has different experiences(good/bad) and everyones pregnancy is different. You should talk to your doctor about smoking. It is not usually recommended during pregnancy for multiple reasons.. But your doctor can give you more facts than opinions which can help you understand more and hopefully help you make the right decision!

I'm 39 weeks and been smoking my whole pregnancy. No I am not happy about it. No I do not think it is ok. But just bc u smoke does not garauntee there will be a problem with baby. My baby is perfectly healthy and my dr always says she's the healthiest baby she's ever seen. Still, not saying it's okay, just that it doesn't always cause problems.

Ive smoked through my whole pregnancy im now 35 weeks and the midwife said my baby is healthier than some who dont smoke and shes bigger than what she should be. My midwife when talking about smoking where ive smoked since I was 12 said its better to cut down than quit because then it puts me and my little one under less stress. But shes very healthy so it cant be that bad. My mum smoked cannabis when she was pregnant with me and my brother and we are both fit and healthy and we were 2 weeks late.

Since your only 7 weeks. It's best to stop now. Smoking during pregnancy is not safe, neither is smoking after you have you baby, especially if your going to be breastfeeding. There's Ton's of information about why you should smoke while pregnant. Do alil research & youll understand why its best to quit, for your heath & your babies health. Good luck momma! (=

Don't listen to your family members or friends the best person to take advice from is your doctor. At your next appointment It's important to tell your doctor you have been smoking even if you plan to stop soon.

I spoke to a smoking specialist at my 12 week scan a few days ago and she told me that smoking harms your baby but if you can completely quit by 15 weeks you can still have a very healthy baby, quitting instantly can put stress on you and that's not good for your baby either but you can use nicotine inhalers/patches and gum which is waaaay better than a cigarette because there are thousands of other chemicals in a cigarette not just nicotine

Is this a joke? It's not okay to smoke while pregnant. It's better to stop/slow down now than at seven months.

Its not okay to smoke. But if you do smoke through your pregnancy then decide to quit cold turkey its bad because your baby will be addicted and that will put them under stress. Since you are so early nownis a great time to quit cold turkey. Otherwise you'd be better off slowing down and quitting. But since you're so early quitting now is a great idea.

It's not okay to smoke during pregnancy... I don't understand why anyone would think that would be okay. I quit cold turkey and my baby is 100% healthy.

It might cause a little stress if you are further along. But you are barley pregnant... i quit at 5 weeks as soon as I found out. And everything is fine.

How would stopping smoking cause problems. ...?? it's not okay to smoke during pregnancy.  It can cause preterm labor and your baby can have asthma or severe breathing issues.... if you can't smoke til Friday why not just quit now and be done....

Quitting cold turkey can put baby into distress but it's far from a guarantee, especially with how early you are (baby is less likely to be dependant at seven weeks than seven months). If you feel okay stopping immediately, go for it. Make sure your Dr/midwife knows.
