It all just depends on what could happen, it depends on how much you smoke. But smoking in general does affect your baby's lungs. They might not have any problems when they're young but in the long run they could. But cutting back is the best if you can't quit :)
My mom smoked while pregnant with me and I was 10lbs so the low birth weight I think is bs
My step dads mother smoked with him but cut back, he has breathing problems. Same with my cousin. I hate when people say "my kid turned out fine" that's great. But not everyone is so lucky
They say on average your baby is born about 400g or under a pound less than babies who dont smoke. That said they are not guaranteed to have asthma. My mum smoked with all 4 of us kids and none of us have asthma or breathing problems.
I'm 18 with my first child and I'm still smoking but my doctor said the baby will have asthma If u keep smoking so I'm stopping cuz I'm only 9 weeks and 5 day's
Tbh, I have known 3 mom's to smoke while pregnant. Not excessive but probably about 4 a week. I stopped smoking when I found out I was pregnant, because I know if something bad DID happen I would never forgive myself. Ultimately it's up to you, and smoking less is better than smoking like a freight train :-) good luck
I smokedthe first few weeks and quit but my Dr said if you can't quit to at least try to cut back because going threw withdrawal will be just as bad for the baby
Look up misbehaving mums on YouTube. It explains what really happens when you smoke
