Yes, it's the artificial sweeteners in the drinks that are the problem as they are basically chemicals.  But one should not hurt you sweetie.  I really don't think it can do any damage.  I really believe your baby is just fine.

Oh, and please ask your doctors ladies.  MOST doctors do recommend NO diet drinks due to the artificial sweeteners.  good luck

Some doctors are concerned about artificial sweeteners. There isn't enough research to prove they are bad for a baby. My doctors says every now and then a diet coke won't hurt but to probably avoid drinking it all the time.

I've never heard such a thing. Why do you think diet is bad? You've got me curious because I've drank a few diet Cokes when nothing else was around.

Although it is wise to avoid sugary beverages, especially during pregnancy, diet drinks may not be a better alternative. Most diet drinks contain a combination of artificial sweeteners and caffeine. Although artificial sweeteners and caffeine in moderation are generally considered safe during pregnancy, excessive consumption may prove problematic. Always talk to your doctor if you have specific concerns about the safety of beverages during pregnancy. :)
