Found out I am a Neg blood type

Hi everyone, I am nine weeks preg and at 7 weeks I had bleeding that sent me straight to the doc's and to get an U/S .  The u/s showed my baby's heart beat which I was soooo happy to see.  But, my doc asked me to do a blood type and I found out I am a negative and rare blood type now I need a Rhogam shot.  Has anyone experienced this? I have put it off for about 5-6 days since I have to drive 40 min and don't have transportation right now.  What can I expect?

my gramma had the rh- blood type when she was pregnant with my mom, she got the shot and went on to have a very healthy pregnancy and my mom was born right on her due date and was bright as a button! so go get the shot!!

You need to get the Rhogam shot ASAP. Like tomorrow. What happens with negative blood types is that your body treats your baby as a foreign substance that must be attacked (much like how your body responds to germs). You can and will miscarry. So go get the shot!
