MOST PEOPLE DO NOT GIVE THEIR CHILD BABY FOOD UNTIL 6 MONTHS, BUT IF YOU TALK TO THE BABY'S DOCTOR THEY WILL TELL YOU WHEN IS A GOOD TIME FOR YOUR CHILD, BC EVERY CHILD IS DIFFERENT, I BELIEVE MY DAUGHTER WAS 3 MONTH OLD WHEN I STARTED PUTTING CEREAL IN HER BOTTLE BUT IM NOT 100% SURE SHE IS 8 SO ITS BEEN AWHILE, AS FAR AS THE STAGES YES 1ST 2ND 3RD IS HOW YOU GIVE IT TO THEM, YOU CAN ASK THE DOCTOR HOW LONG TO KEEP YOUR CHILD ON EACH STAGE ALSO, AS FAR AS ACTUAL FOOD LIKE WHAT WE EAT NOT UNTIL THEY ARE A YEAR AT LEAST IS WHAT I DID, MY FRIEND STARTED GIVING HER SON REAL FOOD AT LIKE 7-8 MONTHS AND HE IS HUGE LIKE HES A YEAR AND HALF AND IS WEARING 3T, ITS INSANE!! YOUR DOCTOR WILL TELL YOU ABOUT ALL THIS
With my daughter I started giving her the infant oatmeal mixed with breast milk at 6 months. At first I made it very runny then as she started getting the hang of it I gradually made it thicker. When they first start eating they basically spit most of it out. Their tongue is used to the thrusting motion because that is how they suck on a nipple. Once we got that down we started introducing stage 1 foods and yes, you go in that order, 1-3. Some people will say introduce veggies before fruits or your child won't want the veggies but its not true. By the time my daughter was 10 months I was giving her tastes of actual people food. You have to introduce only 3 new foods per week and no more than 1 per day so if they have a reaction you can tell what they are allergic to and also because they have sensitive tummys that are just learning to digest new things. Overall, discuss it with your pediatrician and they will go over a plan with you that is best suited for your child.
Hey :) my oldest son just turned one on the 13th, my newborn is 8 days old, but with my first the doc said to start the solid stage 1 foods at 4 months, then at 6-7 months we started stage 2, and now for about a month we've had him on stage 2(since wic only covers it) and stage (when we can buy it) but we also give him real food too, not everything since he doesn't have all of his teeth yet but most things we try out with him. Every child is different and I believe that they will let you know when they are ready for each step. Also I mix all of our one year old's food with the baby cereal, cuz it makes it more, just the jar of food alone doesn't satisfy him lol I hope this helps :)
