update to getting prego so soon after giving birth

I wrote a post the other day about getting pregnant so soon after having a baby without having a period. today i went to my ob for bloodwork and YES i am pregnant. approx 4 weeks. i am suprised, excited and scared all at the same time. my hcg levels came back at 2198 and progesterone level was 21.8. do those sound good? as i know that ur hcg level really needs to double in 48 hours ur not really able to say good or bad without a second number right? i know that i got pregnant sometime at the beginning of this month (sept) not sure which day. so i guess i am not actually 4 weeks yet. i am scheduled for a sonogram on the 13th of october and will know more that day. i have a 4 year old son and a 5 month old daugher (will be 5 mo. on oct 2nd) i am very scared to know that my babies will be so close in age and that i will have 3 children. i hope i can really do this. 2 babies in diapers?? what is going to be so hard is giving my daughter the time and devotion that she needs and deserves once the new baby comes. and with having a 4 yr old he will need to get time and attention too, i'm just scared for all this. i am trying not to stress though. well thanks everyone for all the help and replies in advance. i will keep u updated. does anyone know if my numbers are ok at this stage in prego?? thanks all!!!!

Your numbers look just fine to me. I would post mine but I am having twins so it won't make much difference. I will have three in diapers (more than likely my oldest is not interested in the potty just yet) when the twins arrive so I will be hanging in there with you. Both my mom and my aunt did it so I think we should make it through just fine. PM me if you want and try not to stress even though it may not seem real yet it is a true blessing and right now just concentrate on being happy and healthy to make a good environment for your littlest one to grow in and enjoy your other two children and take it one day or one minute at a time. Its hard to remember now but when the new baby comes your daughter will be almost one and a half and your son, will he be in school??? Anyways their needs and wants will be completely different from this very day and they grow so fast (not that I need to remind you) and you may find that the new baby fits right in perfectly!!! i have a friend whos got a 6 month old an has just found out shes 8 wks its really doing her head in and her bf is very unresponsive to it all which worryingly is making her thing of terminating, after talking to her im not sure thats what she wants but shes worried her son needs her attention more, can i ask her to pm you? i think she needs to talk to somebody in the same situation before she makes a desision she may regret. its difficult for me to advise as im looking forward to my baby and enjoying my pregnancy and its my first time so i cant really tell her what she needs to know right now. hows your partner taking the news?

maybe there are twins in there!! lol... wouldn't that be a treat for someone who right now has a 5 month old babygirl and a 4 yr old.. but like baby edgar said God only gives u what u can handle!!

Your numbers sound great! Mine was only 705 at four weeks and my little boy is 3 months!!!! Good Luck and keep us posted!

if your numbers are 2198 at 4 weeks that is good .....when i m/c at 6 weeks my hcg level was only 1900.....so im my opinion your number are great....Good luck to you...and may your new bean grow strong..

I never actually have found out my numbers, but the hcg level sounds about good.  I have no idea about the progesterone.  When this baby is born, it will be sleeping, ALOT and you will have all the time you need to pay attention to your daughter.  I remember with my son, until he was really up and about he was always sleeping and my daughter and I would be playing and playing for hours!  I wouldn't be too concerned about the two in diapers.  It seems like it'll be hard, but trust me it's not.    It's actually quite the breeze and you'll just become faster at changing diapers!!  :)  Congrats and don't stress, but I wish you luck!  I am here if you want to talk.  My kids are closer than yours will be so I am here for yoU!!
