The child's vocabulary will progress overtime, by age three they are able to combine more words.
Thats normal. My son is the same way. Usually by three they have a decent vocabulary.
I agree every child develop learning skills at their own pace, you can't rush a child into learning something they just aren't ready for . Just because you see a 1 year old saying words that a 2 year old doesn't means nothing . . . Never compare other children to eachother!!! Also build up her self-esteem , let her know that she can do it . . . & not force anything upon her. Put her into some sort of schooling where she's around other kids maybe & she'll pick up the things that she needs to know . My daughter learned basic things at home , such as her Abc's , 123's, colors, animals, & stuff like that through flash cards and videos. Children learn by seeing , & please don't think she has a learning disability!

I thought something was wrong but doc said every child learns different. .my son however talked a storm and walked by 1!! I wouldn't worry just yet. Just keep repeating words and she will catch on. Try drawing a picture on flash cards with the word so she doesn't give u that "im being punished? " look...
