Still bleeding after D&C it's been 6 weeks

I had a miscarriage on Sept 10th 2010, I had a D&C done on Sept 15th 2010. It's Oct 28th 2010 and I'M STILL BLEEDING!! Sometime I have blood clots come out!! My doc swears that this is normal and it takes 6-8 weeks for my body to recover after a D&C. Some of the blood colts have been bigger than a golf ball.  So I don't know what I should do! Should I give it 2 more weeks and see if I'm still bleeding and passing blood clots, or should I go see the doc right away?? The bleedding sometimes slows down like I'm gonna stop then all of a sudden it gets medium heavy again.  Somebody please help!!

Yes, I have informed them, I've called them several times!! They keep telling me it's normal. That my body will take 6-8 weeks to recover from the D&C.

Hi, I did not have a follow up after 4 weeks, I went for a follow up after 2 weeks.  I'm sorry but what is HCG? Does it have to do with your hormone level?  Right now I am still passing blood clots but not big ones and it's not all the time just every once in awhile.  Also sometimes but not all the time it smells funny too.  That could be a sign of infection, but it doesn't smell all the time which is weird.  Thanks for your help. :)

You could have some retained products. Have you had an ultra sound since the D&C or your HCG tested.

After my d&c i bled for 5 days then stopped. A couple days later it started up really heavy.. For2 days, I was passing some clots then they got bigger and bigger...  and then one moment, I got really really rough cramps, I collasped into my bed.  Then I felt like a gallon come out of me. So I ran to the bathroom and there was a massive clot with a bunch of smaller ones. I went  toe the ER, got an ultra sound, and pelvic exam and my hcg lvl. This was only like a week and a half later from my d&C, but my HCg was still 53.  The doctors said there was nothign wrong with me and no signs of retained products as the uterus was cleared. From reading, I think i passed some retained product before I went to the ER.  The next day after this, my bleeding turned to a light pink discharge for a couple days before stopping.  sometimes the placenta stick or they missed some things.  You body could still be trying to pass it ...

Everyone recovers differently. You should have had follow up after your d&c 4 weeks later. If you have a fever, go to the ER...  I would get checked out,  you could develop an infection.
