If you're not really really far along and have the option to get tested again it would be better to try to get rid of the bacteria than to take the antibiotics. Many women have reported killing the bacteria with a regimen of probiotics, and garlic. Google it for more info. I stated taking probiotics and grapefruit seed extract every day starting at week 23 to hopefully prevent group b... Hope it works for me. I don't know how far along you are but it might be worth looking into...

I just had it done yesterday. they take a swab of both your vagina and rectum and if your positive for the bacteria they give you antibiotics during labor so you can't pass it on to baby which can cause problems

I have it and my doctor said they will just give me antibiotics through labor. They said it's not a big deal and many women have it.

I didnt know GBS can be detected by urine. But if you're positive it's not a big deal.  When you're in labor the dr will give you IV antibiotics over 4 hours.  That's it.  Not bad at all.
