Stress and miscarriage

Im currently 7 weeks and was wondering what kinds of effects can stress have on your baby. I have bipolar disorder and recently got a dui (before I found out I was pregnant). I just found out that im going to have to spend a minimum of 10 days in jail among other things (fines, classes, court ) I've been extremely stressed about it and am worried for myself and my baby. I am still on some of my meds but had to stop taking the vital one snd just need a way to learn how to cope with the stress without medications.

The reason for the jail time is because my bac was higher than a .2. My options are to lose my lisence for 9 months and then have the interlock in my car for 2 years. Or not drive for a month and request the interlock. It is 100 dollars a month for maintainence. Either way its alot of money and kind of embarrassing to be pregnant and go thru alcohol classes

I don't think they are being tough on you,  its the law in some places, think of what you would have had to go through if it wasn't just a DUI?  what if you had your child in the car?   I know here it is 1 year that you lose your license and then for the next year you have to have a breathilizer installed in your car.  and then you have the maintenance that you have to do for that system in your car, I'm told thats about $2000 a month.  I was hit by a driver that thought it was ok to drink and drive when I was about 8 and I still have issues from it.  My mom and I were lucky, it could have been a lot worse.

As for the stress part any stress is hard on your body and therefore hard on your baby as well.

Wow, they're being really, really tough on you!  What state/country are you from?  I got a DUI almost 10 years ago and I only had to spend 1 day in jail and had my license suspended for 3 months.  I know they're tougher on you nowadays but I don't think it's as bad as that!  I'm so, so sorry you have to go through this while pregnant and have a 6 year old to take care of.  It is such a headache and so hard to deal with when you don't have children, I can't imagine what it must be like for you.  Do you have family nearby that can help?  Depending on where you live you can apply for all sorts of benefits like help with bills, food, and daycare.  Can you apply for unemployment?  It's scary not knowing what the future will hold but I think once you know what help you qualify for that may help your stress a bit.

Again, I'm so sorry you have to deal with all this.  I know I didn't really answer your question but you have my utmost sympathy.
