Stressing!!

So I'm 22 weeks pregnant & haven't been to the Dr. in over a month, because that's how long it took me to switch Dr.s (first Dr. was never there, & had a bad rep) & now I'm having problems with the insurance so I can't  go to my appointment tomo bc my Dad can't take me off his insurance until I'm married & my insurance through him won't pay for anything at the ob/gyn & I don't have $300-$500 (what my new Dr. said it would cost for a visit without insurance), which is stupid because I have insurance but basically don't at the same time, I'm freaking out! :'/  I need to know my baby is okay & healthy. & I'd like to know the gender of my jelly bean also.

Health Insurance Premium Payment

The Health Insurance Premium Payment program (HIPP) is a Medicaid program that helps families pay for private health insurance. This program is for families who have:

A parent or a spouse with private health insurance.
AND

A child or a spouse with Medicaid.
Medicaid will pay the family's private health insurance if the total cost of that insurance is less than the total cost of care with Medicaid. The total cost of the private insurance includes the premium, coinsurance and deductibles.

If approved, Medicaid may pay the private health insurance costs for the entire family and not just for the family members who get Medicaid. The family will get services through the private health insurance plan.

To learn more or to apply, call us toll-free at 1-800-440-0493 or write to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, TMHP-HIPP, PO Box 201120; Austin, Texas 78720-1120.

Lol thank you but I'm already on the Texas Star program & have called them there is nothing anyone can do yet & I'm in Orange county. I had no idea I was on his insurance when I got on Medicaid bc we all thought it ended in 2011 bc thats when it was supposed to end. & it never showed up for 2 1/2 years until now at the most inconvenient time! I don't understand how it never showed up until just now.

Medicaid was my primary, I used it for 3 months then all this stuff popped up out of no where with his insurance which I was supposed to be off of as of 2011 but they changed their plan in 2011 3 days before my birthday so they don't let you get off until your married trust me I have tried everything from talking to both insurance, to telling my Dads insurance it important I get it dropped.

Get off his insurance have him drop you. Or change Medicaid to your primary. Where are you at? I'm in Conroe and just got approved for Medicaid cuz my hubbys insurance only pays 11,000 $ towards pregnancy and delivery combined and doesn't cover baby.

I live in Tx & have Medicaid but they won't use te Medicaid bc they don't take secondary, at first i didn't know i was on my Dads insurance & neither did he bc I'm 21 & don't live at home. & the insurance my Dad has me on doesn't kick in with my new doctor it doesn't cover maternity at all like nothing! :/ everything would be out of pocket.
