Sudden Death

Dear Sir,

My wife delivered a baby on 2/06/10. She was quite OK on the 2nd, even though she was having a bit dizziness. She was administered saline, amoxcicilin, antiacid (rantac/ pantaprazol) and gentamicin. on the 3rd night she was administered the same medicines, she was also having high pulse rate (135) but doctors thought she needed some blood and did administer the same, On the 4th morning doctors discovered she was passing low urine but her blood report at 9 am showed tha teveryting was normal and administered LASIS but it did not work well. She was then taken for dialysis at around 12.30 pm and died at 2.30 pm due to septic shock, multiorgan faliur.

Please help to solve the reason I have lost my nearest person. If you require any other details please mail the same and I will provide.

Regards
Deba

How difficult it must be for you to try to understand such a tragic loss, I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. You certainly should ask the physicians who were handling your wife's situation what lead her passing; did they say what caused the septic shock and organ failure?  (You can also contact a physician on the Ask a Doctor side of the forum, maybe check with the pregnancy category since the complications happened so soon after childbirth.) Situations like this are so complicated, getting the whole story from her health care providor may be difficult but if you let them know you truly need to understand so you can accept her passing, they might give you more information. Good luck, I hope everything is well with your child.

I'm sorry for your loss.  Unfortunaetly this is NOT the ask a doctor forum.  No one here is a doctor and therefore we can not give you any answers as to what happened to your wife.  Again I'm very sorry.

i am so sorry for the loss of your wife, i can't imagine what your going through.  I'm not sure exactly what the problems were, if she had complications throughout her labour or not.  I really wish you all the luck in the world and hope your baby is doing okay
