Went to the ER today!!!!!!

Wow what a day! This morning I woke up feeling fine. I had a small glass of sprite and about 5 min later was throwing it up. I felt fine after that. Dh and I went to the grocery store with the kiddos and all the sudden everything went black... I couldn't stand and pretty much collapsed. My husband and I started to walk to the car leaving our groceries in the middle of the isle and I couldn't walk. I went to the er and my blood pressure was 82/54. Apparently I was so dehydrated that I couldn't function. I am only 11 weeks. I was terrified. They pumped a ton of fluids in me and got my Bp up and did an EKG and blood work and a blood sugar test. My blood sugar was low but they were not too concerned. I was realeased a few hours later. I am so scared Aston if it happens again. What if I am alone. Any advice?

Wow, glad everything is okay. Definitely follow up with your doctor and make sure that you are always well hydrated. And lie down for a bit on your left side when you are feeling woozy -- my dr told me it can help with low bp.

I live in south Texas too and it was extremely hot. My husband was constantly forcing me to drink water. But I found that orange juice made me feel better and less nauseous.

Get some support hose or stockings.  It helps regulate ur blood pressure.  I had a huge problem with mine dropping low like that.  Also make sure when u get up do so slowly.  Good luck.

Definitly stay hydrated. I live in south Texas and when I was pregnant this passed summer it was HORRIBLE! It would be like 105 at noon time and that was in the shade. My DH would scold me for being outside to much trying to stay active with the kids. I couldn't stand plain water, so what I would do is cut up some lemons or oranges and put them in my cup. It takes away the "plain old water" taste and you get a serving of fruit at the same time. Hope you feel better!

Ohhh that IS scary..I don't know if you were around at the end of my pregnancy with Grey or if you were busy? But My blood pressure kept dropping dramatically (we're talking like 60/40..once even lower) and I kept blacking out and losing my vision and fainting...it was really scary. and it did happen once or twice when I was home alone with Kahlan but somehow we managed it...I made it to 39w4d before I finally was admitted and induced because my vision had gone black and hadn't come back after more than 24 hours (but this was due to neurological problems, NOT the blood pressure)....the only thing you can do is keep your fluid intake really high..I'm talking like always be drinking something, every second! even when you're peeing! lol.

Keep your blood sugar steady, and if you feel AT ALL WOOZY or dizzy, lie on your left side or sit down and let it pass..if you feel like you're going to faint, put the babies somewhere safe, call someone you trust, and lie down...it won't kill you. that's the one thing I kept having to reassure myself over and over of, because it was so scary, but it won't kill you..just scare the crap out of you. so just take it easy and drink drink drink!

make sure you are drinking a lot of fluids.    If I find I'm not drinking a lot I drink a powerade (it has less sodium then gatorade) and that seems to help me.   I have noticed that I'm really only getting any kind of nasuea when I don't drink enough fluids.
Take care of yourself.
