Swine flu and pregnancy

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and a little worried about the swine flu. I'm in Colorado and the first confirmed case was announced after the person was at a hospital less than 10 minutes from my house on the south end of town. My dad has been really sick the last couple of days with the flu and he's getting tested tomorrow. I figured I should look into and find out what the symptoms are. Looks like regular flu symptoms. The only thing that worries me is the medication you take for it is not recomended for pregnant women. So then what do pregnant women do?

I found this article on the cdc website regarding the swine flu and pregnancy. I thought those of you in states with cases of this might want to see it....

I put spaces in so it wouldn't get stared out by medhelp. Just take out the spaces.

If you're concerned about the swine flu, you should check out Dr. Enoch Choi's health chat tomorrow. I plan on traveling to Mexico next month, so I'll be attending the health chat.

Nicmom- the swine flu is just the flu.  All influenza strains are different and come from different sources, usually one or two different strains each year, that's why they change the recipe for the flu shot every year.
If you got the flu shot, then the chances are that if you do get this flu virus it wouldn't hit you as hard.  If you didn't get the flu shot (like me) then if you get it, you will have regular flu symptoms.  Since any flu is a virus there aren't any medications that you can take unless you go with some o f the really tough medicine that you wouldn't want to take anyway during pregnancy.  I think that you would be fine with plenty of fluids and tylenol, which is pretty much what doctors recommend anyway with any case of the flu.
Of course, if you start feeling sick call your doctor.  But I honestly don't think that you or anyone has much to worry about other than trying to avoid any flu.
