TMI - Yeast infections during pregnancy
My Dr. says it's normal for soem women to get yeast infections while pregnant. I am currently 37 weeks and woke up this morning with itchy uncomfortable va-jay-jay.. Ugh.. I had a horrible yeast infection last month that lasted a whole week! Prior to pregnancy, I had only ever had a yeast infection once, and it was antibiotic caused, so I discontinued the antibiotics and it went away almost immediately (within a day or so!)! Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to get rid of it faster that monistat? It is AWFUL!
Oh yes..... very very normal, and UNCOMFORTABLE! The over the counter meds work ok.... normally the 3 day dose..... I have heard alot about the AZO pills but dont know if they are safe to take during pregnancy.... I would call the doc and ask!
try acidophilis tablets, you can get them at the pharmacy, ask your pharmacist to help you (tell them you've got the infection). They are perfectly safe during pregnancy. It is the same ingrediant found in yogurt which if you eat a bit of that will help boost your balance for fighting off the infections as well.
Monistat is safe during pregnancy, but i don't know about taking or using at 37 weeks so check w/the doc first. .. .
In the future, whenever you take the antibiotics, be sure to eat lots of yogurt and take acidophilis too and hopefully that will prevent the occurance all together of the infections.

Try AZO Yeast homeopathic pills, they are awesome!! its just a herbal pill and you take it 3 times a day and the yeast infetion goes away in like a day or two. I don't know if you can take them while pregnant but I swear by them. I love those pills!!! I haven't used the lotion **** for years since I found these pills!
Trust and believe unfortunately yes it is normal I've been suffering from them myself UGHHHHHHHHHH the joys of pregnancy, I used gynelotrimin or something similar to that and the symptoms cleared up pretty quick for me... Good Luck!!
