Tailbone pain

I feel like someone has hit me with a hammer right on my tailbone.  I haven't fell or anyting.  I have heard this is sign that labor is on the way.  Is this true?

I have the same kind of pain. A distinct spot on my tail bone that feels like ive fallen or been severely bruised in some way. It hurts more te more i walk and despite my smallish beely i find my self pregnancy waddling and holding my lowback/bum like a pregnancy cliche. My doctor (over the phone) just advised me that it was just my pelvis/hips spreading and to use heat packs to relieve it. He didnt seem surprised that it felt like a specific affected area. Mind you i am only 23 weeks so i dont know how entireley relevant this is.

My next appointment is in the morning.  I think that I might have hurt myself somehow though.  I  can actually put my finger on the exact spot that hurts. It is very tender to the touch.  I don't know how I would have gotten hurt though.  I am doing very much these days.

it can be a sign of labor depending on the intensity, but it also a your hips spreading......yes i swore it felt like someone was hitting me with a hammer but i only felt it a few times through out my third trimester but since you are so close it could very well be a sign of labor.....when is your next appt.?

I sure hope it's not a sign of labor cause I've been having it since 15 weeks but my OB said it's just from your hips spreading

yeah my sister was sitting on my moms front porch all day complaining of her butt and back hurting and when her baby daddy came to get her they stay an hour away she got almost home and they had to turn around and get to the hospital but they didn't get there fast enought she had the baby on the express way. so yeah you could be in labor or just starting .
