Tattoos that wont streach.

Sorry that I've posted a lot today.  Who has a tattoo anywhere near their stomach that still looks good after being pregnant.  I am going on sunday to get a rememberance tattoo and its going to be on the inside of my hip like along my groin.  It will be covered by my underwaer so it's really not that high.  I had some people that have said it should be fine and others that say it will streach.  It is a little flower that is the size of a nickel.

It doesn't matter where you get a tattoo since during pregnancy everything gets a little bigger. I have 2 tattoo's one which is in the same area as where you want to get one and both stretched during pregnancy and then went back to regular size once I got back down to my pre-pregnancy size. It will continue to be stretched until you reach your old size and your skin becomes taunt again. Some tattoos look fine stretched for instance my flower on my hip, pelvic bone  area looked ok my whole pregnancy it just kept getting bigger and bigger; but, some tattoos look strange stretched out. Its really up to you but it seems like if you are thinking about getting pregnant within the next year or so with your fiance that you may want to wait until AFTER to get all of these piercings and tattoos you want. Seems a little silly to get a tattoo that may or may not stretch and a belly button piercing when you may never show your stomach again.

i have one on my belly right above my belly button (i know that isnt where your getting yours but)  it is a dolphin. and i got it for my 18th bday. got preg. when i was 23 and my nice 5inch dolphin turned into a 8&1/2 in WHEAL that looked like it got cought in a propeller. talk about scarry. and i wasnt worried bout the stretch maks because my mom didnt get any!!!! yeah right i was a road map full of streatch marks.  they do fade and my tattoo guy told me he couldnt redo my tat untill atleas 5 years so the skin will "heal" as much as possible. good luck hun.

I have one on my lower tummy by my hip it is half covered by a baithing suit and half out, it streached a bit with the pregnancy, but when down after I had my daughter and looks completley normal.  Good Luck!  I think having on that low will do the trick.

Mine will be able to be covered by underwear so I think it will do okay.  I have streach marks in other places from when I was pregnant and that isn't one of the spots so ill probably be okay.

I will get it done and if I need to redo it I can redo it once I'm done having kids.   Do you think that if I have it done a little lower it would be better?

i have one on my pubic bone and its been through all (3) of my pregnancies and hasn't stretched. i actually have a picture of my belly and you can see the tattoo and where it is and what it looks like while pregnant if you want to check it out.

i am a huge fan of tattoos and have 7...they range any where from the pubic bone, shin, back to my wrist. some hurt more than others of course, but not enough to make me stop getting them LOL!

i actually have a celtic motherhood knot on the inside of my wrist and it has different colored dots within it to represent my children as well as my m/c's.

i didnt get any stretch marks on the belly. did your mom get any stretch marks while pregnant? it might be fine, but you never know. a good thing is with something that small...all mine are big, lol...it would be an easy thing to fix by a skilled tattoo artist. and not very expensive to fix either (maybe 40 bucks or so), but after looking at your profile and you are wanting four kids, thats a lot of fixing if it does stretch!! and a tattoo is a scar. going over the scar tissue repeatedly WILL hurt. trust me, i have had 3 sessions on my foot and one more to go and it continues to hurt worse and worse every time. not trying to scare you, but just giving you a heads up. my father in law is a tattoo artist, so if you have any questions let me know!!

I want it in that area... would it be better if I went lower?  or closer to my leg?

I have three tattoos. One on my foot, one in the middle of my shoulder blades, and one on the lower back. i know that these places are all easy to hide places (that was my big deal too) and none of mine stretched. i have a friend who has one where you are talking about and hers did not stretch with any of her three pregnancies. but, you really have to take into consideration your skin type and family history of stretch marks. if your mom got stretch marks in that area you are more likely to and that will ruin your tattoo!!

Well that will definitely stretch when you get pregnant. Whether or not it will stretch and look weird afterwards is questionable, though. Have you done an Internet search for "post partum tattoos"? Maybe you could find pictures of tats that were in the similar place. Smart of you to think of this before getting pregnant!

I had my fiance draw one where I wanted it.  I will post it and you can take a look and see what you think.  http***s43.photobucket.com/albums/e397/surfinken2008/

I'm not trying to discourage you from doing what you want. I'm just being honest. I've been pregnant, full-term, twice and I have freckles on my stomach that aren't where they used to be. And tattoos are expensive so just wanting you to use caution because I care.

Joy~ I want it easily hidden and I don't like lower back tattoos.  I want it somewhere that isn't common and no one sees unless I want them too.

I don't have any tattoos but I have seen some stretched out tattoos that do not go back to normal. Your lower back or shoulder blades might be better because your tat most likely wouldn't stretch there.

I have a tattoo on my side, no stretching or anything and it hasn't faded at all - my OB said that he thinks it's in the clear for stretching and looking absolutely awful but there is no guarentee's!

Thanks, I figured it would go back to normal afterwards.

I have a tattoo right around my belly button. This is my 3rd pregnancy after getting it and it stretches, but then goes right back to normal after I have the baby... It hasn't even faded anymore than it would with just time. I hope this helps, but I don't have any on my thighs or hips... Good Luck...
