"Threatened Miscarriage"

about 2 weeks ago, At 6 weeks gestation, I went to the hospital with spotting and stomach pains. They in informed me that I was having a "threatened miscarriage" and that everything would be fine. I was put on bedrest for 3 days and asked to go back 2 days later to recheck my HCG levels. Turns out they only went from 419 to 453, so they said I had miscarried since I was passing clots and still spotting. The nurses told me to follow up with my OB/GYN today (since I already had the appointment). Well my doc doesn't seem to think I miscarried since I'm not still bleeding. He did a pelvic exam and says that my uterus seems enlarged (which he says is a good thing) and scheduled an ultrasound for later today to see. On the way home my husband and I decided to take another pregnancy test just to see. It was negative... has anyone had anything like this happen?? And what was your outcome?

At five weeks I had a threatened miscarriage and I'm now nine weeks with a perfectly healthy little peanut. The ER Dr told me I wasn't pregnant at first and they didn't see anything on an ultrasound either, my obgyn says that ER docs are trying to get you in and out and sometimes don't take the time they should. At 7 weeks we saw baby's heartbeat and ob says everything looks fine. Have faith, I'm sure it will all work out.

Yes they did an ultrasound at the hospital. They said they only saw a sac but that could mean either I wasnt quite 6 weeks, or I was miscarrying. Glad things are going well for you now. And thank you

If if u had seen him earlier it wud not prevent a miscarriage.  Did they do a vaginal ultrasound? I had spotting and a clot at 5 weeks but I am now 19 wks pregnant. Keep the faith.

Thank you, I will. I'm trying to be positive considering the way my OB reacted to the whole thing

They've been so back and forth with it. Hospital says maybe, no then yes. My doc says he doesn't think so and that they should have had me see him Waaayyyy sooner.
