Traveling While Pregnant

How many moms have travelled during pregnancy on a plane?? Here's my dilemma: I live in LA. My family and friends are back home in Chicago. I wanted to fly back there for my baby shower. At least in my 5th month, not too late in the pregnancy because of the risks. My mom or boyfriend dont want me to fly. This is my 1st baby & I really want a baby shower for the experience if nothing else. I dont care about receiving gifts. Plus, I dont really know a lot of people out here. Help me out mommies!!

Thank you ladies!! The flight from LA to Chicago is normally 3 & 1/2 hour flight. I was planning on going before my 6th month to be on the safe side. I think I will be fine. I just dont wanna miss out on the experience. Its my first baby!!

I've flown while pregnant.. Actually I flew ALOT during my first pregnancy. I lives in Virginia and I'm from Chicago too so I flew back home often. According to my dr it was fine up 31 weeks after that flying is not recommended. Not just cus of the altitude but because you never know how early u may go into labor and drs want to keep you near your hospital. Driving or a bus could be even more dangerous. Good luck I hope you get your baby shower! I flew back home for mine as well!

I'm just flew to Miami from Houston for my baby shower. I'm at 29 weeks and the flight is not bad at all. My doctor said it's ok as long as it's under 32 weeks and it's not a super long flight. Just get up to walk around from time to time so your feet don't swell up. Otherwise you should be fine as long as your doctor give you the green light.

My sister flew from oregon to costa rica 7 months pregnant. your dr will let your know if he feels your pregnancy us healthy enough to do that. Normally is fine tho but ask your dr and also its a good idea to get a note from them saying that they okayed you to fly

Ive read its fine upto 7ish months. Id still run it by your doctor but it should be fine. And check with the airline cause some smaller planes arent pressurised enough like the big ones. Im not surw how long your flight would be but my friend just flew 3 hours at 26 Weeks.
